CreaSign is a software component, which enables simple creation and verification
of digital signature within different applications. Digital signature (or
electronic signature) ensures a rock-solid, legally binding security of your
e-business: guarantees authenticity and prevents repudiation or tampering with
digitally signed electronic documents. Digital signature, endorsed by CreaSign,
is as legally binding as a handwritten signature on a paper document.
Digital signature ensures the essential electronic document security features:
signatory authentication, document integrity and non-repudiation. Using
CreaSign an arbitrary application can securely create advanced electronic
signatures in a straightforward way that complies with all relevant guidelines
and legislation in force: EU and UN guidelines, ETSI and EESSI technical
recommendations as well as Slovene Electronic Commerce and Electronic Signature
Act and recommendations of Digital Signature Working Group which operates
within Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Slovenia (CCIS).
CreaSign provides various applications with a simple way of digital signature
creation and digital signature verification. It encapsulates and hides
different low-level cryptographic APIs for certificate management, smart cards
access and digital signature creation or verification.
Due to its flexible implementation, CreaSign enables a seamless, simple and
user-friendly integration of electronic signature into an arbitrary application
and thus helps implement any form of digital signature based e-business.
Even though CreaSign is extremely simple to use, it does not limit you in usage
of advanced options, like multiple signatures on a single electronic document,
sequential (counter) or parallel signatures, signature hierarchy, partial
signatures, signature of a document batch, signing a large file, timestamping,
using digital certificates on smart cards etc. CreaSign object model also
allows for implementation of unique and advanced digital signature scenarios.
CreaSign supports various digital signature formats like Xml-Signature (XmlDSig
and XAdES) or PKCS#7
signature.

To create a digital signature in a browser CreaSign client component supports
both Internet Explorer (Windows) and Mozilla/Firefox (Windows, Linux and Mac).
On server CreaSign only requires one of the Windows operating systems:
9x/Me/NT/2000/XP/2003/Vista. CreaSignServer service supports all common server
platforms (Windows, Linux, Unix etc.) and development environments (.NET, Java,
PHP, …) platform to create or verify a signature.
